Description

The program attribute containing the path to the startWeblogic.sh (and most probably its windows equivalent as well) is defined with an invalid default value as it does not include the domain name (the domain in known as appears in the shared-->domain attribute value).

Steps to reproduce:

  • Navigate to the Weblogic 10.3 admin resource
  • Navigate to the inventory--> control section -->program attribute

Example:

Current value: /root/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/startWebLogic.sh
Expected value: /root/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain/startWebLogic.sh

This a default value, not discovered, we can try to auto-discover but I think is not worth it, the weblogic user usually change it on their weblogic installation.

Apologies for not explaining this properly: the 'base_domain' value is an example as in my case the domain name (the only existing doman is the base_domain).
My intention was that if we already know the install path (which we do) as well as the domain name (displayed in the UI) its very easy to concatanate them together so that the path is complete.

As part of our continuous effort to improve product quality, The Hyperic product team has decided to implement a "zero bug policy" methodology.

Following this methodology, only defects that are planned to be handled in the near future will remain open. Any other defect will be deferred, with the option to be reevaluated if the need arises, or if changes to the Hyperic road-map make such defect a candidate for a fix.

We believe this new process will help create clarity and focus in the Hyperic road-map and ultimately benefit our customer base.

This bug has been deferred as part of the new policy.

We appreciate your cooperation and continues contribution to the improvement of Hyperic.
